Terms of use and disclaimer

Version 2026-10-24.2

In short. ProductExplorer is a free tool for exploring an electronic product idea. Everything it shows (observations, battery-life indications, regulatory checklists and reports) is preliminary, automated and general. It is based only on what you enter and on simplified assumptions. It is not engineering advice, a design, a feasibility or cost guarantee, legal advice or a compliance determination. Do not make development, investment, purchasing or certification decisions based on it alone: have your product assessed by qualified engineers and, for regulatory matters, by a qualified compliance specialist or notified body.

1. What ProductExplorer is

ProductExplorer ("the tool") is provided by Salitronic ("we", "us") at explorer.salitronic.com, including its web interface, its programming interface and its interface for AI assistants. It helps you describe a product concept in terms of what it must do, and highlights considerations that typically need engineering attention. It does not design products, select components or produce schematics, layouts, firmware or bills of materials.

2. No professional advice

The output of the tool is general information, not professional engineering, legal, regulatory, financial or safety advice. It does not create an engineering, consulting or advisory relationship between you and Salitronic. Such a relationship only exists under a separate written agreement.

3. Estimates, assumptions and limitations

Assessments are generated automatically from rules and simplified models applied to the information you provide. They may be incomplete or wrong, and they cannot take into account anything you have not entered. Battery-life indications are coarse ranges under stated, typical assumptions, not predictions of the battery life of your product. The absence of a warning does not mean that a product is feasible, safe, compliant, manufacturable or economical. Assessment rules and data change over time, and the same input may give different results later.

4. Regulatory information

Regulatory checklists list legislation, standards and approvals that may need to be evaluated for the markets you select. They are not a compliance determination, are not legal advice and may be incomplete or out of date. Which requirements apply, and how conformity is demonstrated, depends on the final design, its intended use and the law in force when the product is placed on the market. You, as manufacturer or importer, remain responsible for compliance.

5. No warranty

The tool is provided free of charge, "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose and uninterrupted or error-free operation, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We may change, suspend or withdraw the tool at any time.

6. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Salitronic is not liable for any loss or damage arising from the use of, or reliance on, the tool or its output. This includes loss of profit, revenue, business, data or opportunity, development or certification costs, and any indirect or consequential loss. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or your statutory rights as a consumer.

7. Your responsibility

You are responsible for the information you enter, for how you use the output, and for independently verifying anything before relying on it. Do not use the tool for products where an error could cause harm (for example medical, automotive, aviation or safety-critical systems) without a full professional design and assessment process.

8. Your ideas, confidentiality and data security

Projects you save are private to your account. Salitronic staff do not look at them unless you explicitly submit a project for an engineering assessment. When you submit, we see the submitted revision and the details you provide, and use them only to respond to your request.

No online service is completely secure. We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the information stored in the tool, but we cannot guarantee that it will never be accessed, disclosed, altered or lost through events outside our reasonable control, such as attacks by third parties, failures of hosting or other service providers, or compromise of your own devices, email account or browser. You enter information at your own risk. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Salitronic is not liable for any loss or damage resulting from unauthorised access to, or disclosure or loss of, information you entered, unless caused by our failure to take the security measures required of us by law. This does not affect any rights you have under data-protection law that cannot be limited by contract.

Do not enter information you need to keep strictly confidential, such as unpublished inventions you intend to patent, trade secrets or third parties' confidential information. Using the tool does not create a confidentiality agreement. If your idea is highly sensitive, contact us first and we will sign a non-disclosure agreement before discussing it outside the tool. You are responsible for keeping access to your email account secure, since it is used to sign in. How we handle personal data is described in our privacy notice.

9. Intellectual property

You keep all rights in your product ideas and the information you enter. Salitronic keeps all rights in the tool, its content, rules, models and data. Using the tool gives you no rights in them beyond using the tool under these terms.

10. Acceptable use

Do not misuse the tool. In particular, do not attempt to extract, copy, reverse-engineer or systematically harvest its rules, models or data (for example by automated bulk queries or parameter sweeps), circumvent rate limits or security measures, use it to build a competing product or service, or interfere with its operation. We may limit or block access in case of misuse.

11. AI assistants

AI assistants may use the tool on your behalf. Their use is subject to these terms, and the same limitations apply to the results they relay. An assistant may only ask Salitronic to contact you with your consent, and we only act on such a request after you confirm it from your own email address.

12. Enquiries and quotations

Submitting a project or contact request does not create a contract or oblige either party. Any engineering work, assessment or quotation is subject to a separate written agreement and Salitronic's terms of business.

13. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms; the version date above shows the current version. These terms are governed by the laws of Malta, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rules of your country of residence.

14. Contact

Questions about these terms: salitronic.com/contact.php or info@salitronic.com.
